Disappointed
I had read this novel years ago and remember it as a good, old fashioned detective novel. Sadly the audio version was ruined by dreadful narration. The straightforward narrative is good, but character voices verge on caricature, the cabaret dancer (supposedly Mexican) is particularly difficult to listen to, and distracted me from the story. I got about a third of the way through before I had to give up. Such a disappointment.
